Future-proof network solutions with Huawei

2024-04-11T10:09:58+00:00

At Netways Europe, we believe in creating high-end network solutions for Ethernet and fiber optic infrastructures. Recently, we were challenged by an ISP, Internet Service Provider, to renew their existing backbone. After careful consideration, we chose a solution from Huawei. "Together, we maximize value for the customer." The ISP needed to renew their existing backbone for the transport of internet and data services. The current solution was ten years old, and obtaining the necessary components was becoming increasingly difficult. Furthermore, the capacity no longer met current requirements. Efficient Approach Netways was approached to assist in implementing a solution that [...]

Celerway GO: our small internet powerhouse.

2023-08-25T10:04:06+00:00

During a video call with one of our clients on a remote island in Madagascar, we look at each other and realize two things: 1. We are fortunate to be able to do this, and we are immensely grateful for it. And 2: We can do this. And that second part is made possible by modern technology. We have been combining travel and work for several years, the two of us. And recently, the three of us. Our faithful companion with two antennas travels with us: the Celerway GO. What is it? Quite simply, it's our 'internet box'. [...]

PacketLight adds quantum encryption to PL-4000x via ID Quantique

2022-01-15T20:00:34+00:00

Optical transport systems vendor PacketLight Networks says it has collaborated with quantum security specialist ID Quantique (IDQ). The result is the addition of IDQ’s QRNG (quantum random number generator) chip to upgrade the security capabilities of PacketLight’s PL-4000x line for 400G metro and 200G long-haul applications as well as data center interconnect. PL-4000x systems with quantum capabilities include the PL-4000M 400-Gbps muxponder and PL-4000T 1.6-Tbps transponder/muxponder. Both are 1U modular platforms with integrated mux/demux, amplifiers, and optical switch. They offer embedded Layer-1 GCM-AES-256 encryption using elliptic curve Diffie-Hellman key exchange. However, the addition of IDQ’s QRNG chip, which generates quantum encryption [...]

ADVA’s FSP 3000 and FSP 150 platforms have been selected to play a crucial role in the OPENQKD project.

2020-06-25T13:43:55+00:00

ADVA’s FSP 3000 and FSP 150 platforms have been selected to play a crucial role in the OPENQKD project. Funded by the European Commission, the project is designed to create and trial a secure communication network across Europe based on quantum key distribution (QKD). It will lay the foundation for a European quantum communication infrastructure combining satellite and fibre-based QKD technology. OPENQKD’s aim is to accelerate the commercial adoption of QKD technology and to promote interoperability through an ecosystem of 38 partners from 13 countries, including academic institutions, network operators, and manufacturers of network and QKD equipment. It will [...]

FUNET trials ADVA FSP 3000 TeraFlex™ to dramatically expand network capacity

2020-05-05T19:27:05+00:00

Ultra-flexible capabilities enable 400GbE transport over 2,844km link on existing research and education network ADVA (FSE: ADV) today announced that CSC – IT Center for Science, which operates the Finnish University and Research Network (FUNET), has transported 400Gbit/s over its existing long-haul network using the ADVA FSP 3000 TeraFlex™. The trials pave the way for ultra-fast access to Finland’s supercomputers and could offer a major boost to Europe’s research and education community. They also demonstrated the terminal’s ability to carry 1200Gbit/s channels for the transport of 3x 400GbE over a live meshed ROADM infrastructure. What’s more, the trials highlighted [...]

Transforming high-capacity access networks with filterless optical technology

2023-10-11T12:13:44+00:00

There’s been a lot of recent interest in Adva's filterless optical line system. In conversations with a wide range of communication service provider customers (CSPs), we’ve discussed what the solution offers in terms of driving new levels of capacity into access networks. The technology is built on a new configuration of our FSP 3000 platform, and it works in concert with our network management platform, Ensemble Controller, to push coherent optics deeper into access networks. That makes it ideal for building low-cost, high-capacity access networks. But there are also other key benefits that our filterless optical line system will offer. [...]
