Reliable time synchronization for critical processes
PTP, GNSS, Grandmaster, Timing & Sync
If different devices run at different times, you face all kinds of risks. You won’t be able to reliably verify transactions and logs. But your network performance and the quality of your data replication can also suffer, because they can’t optimally distribute the workload over time. Fortunately, there’s a solution!
We can provide your organization with a state-of-the-art timing infrastructure. This ensures optimal and secure performance in every situation. Your networks and applications will operate with the utmost precision—both during the construction and connection phases.

Benefits
High-quality time synchronization helps protect your business processes
- Quality
- Available time sources
- Stable holdover in the event of signal loss
Ideal for
Organizations that synchronize financial transactions, control cell phone towers, or use underwater detection systems. But also for networks that require precise timing and do not have access to satellite navigation signals (such as GPS).
- Financial Institutions
- Internet service providers (ISPs)
- Industrial, such as oil and gas
All Your Processes and Data Under Control
1. Prevent fraud
Precise time synchronization makes fraud visible, traceable, and often impossible. It is a silent but essential foundation of digital integrity. In sectors such as finance, telecommunications, and cybersecurity, it is crucial to know exactly what is happening and when.
Without synchronized time, you can:
- Failure to Verify Transactions Reliably
- Don't Trust Logs
- Suspicious Patterns Are Hard to Recognize
Time synchronization via PTP or GNSS ensures that:
- All systems use exactly the same time: down to the nanosecond
- Logs must be tamper-proof
- Every action is assigned a reliable timestamp
- Forensic investigations are efficient and thorough

2. Prevent process errors
In the cloud, “time” is the glue that binds systems together. Workloads, data, and applications run across multiple locations, data centers, and devices.
Without perfect timing, errors occur in:
- Data Replication
- Load Balancing
- Authentication
- Logging and Monitoring
- Failover or recovery processes
Time synchronization ensures that:
- Devices and virtual machines are precisely synchronized with one another, even across locations
- Transitions between the cloud and on-premises environments proceed smoothly (e.g., failovers or hybrid cloud scenarios)
- Systems remain in sync during outages or migrations, ensuring business continuity
- More efficient troubleshooting and auditing thanks to consistent log timelines
How does this technique work?
Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS)
GNSS receivers collect signals from multiple satellites, such as GPS and Galileo. Each satellite transmits information about its exact position and time. The receiver measures how long it took each signal to arrive and uses that information to calculate the distance to each satellite. This is how the system determines an accurate time and position. GNSS also takes into account factors such as atmospheric delays and clock deviations.
GNSS often serves as the external time source for systems that require precise time.
Precision Time Protocol (PTP)
PTP is a protocol that distributes precise time within a local area network (LAN), down to the nanosecond level. This makes it suitable for measurement and control systems. Within a PTP network, the grandmaster clock plays a central role. This grandmaster typically receives its time via GNSS and then transmits it to all other devices in the network via the PTP protocol. This ensures that all systems are perfectly synchronized.
In summary:
- GNSS provides the official time (UTC)
- The grandmaster clock receives that time via GNSS
- PTP distributes that time throughout the network
