Protection Against Quantum Threats
Quantum Security and QuantumConnect
Cybercriminals are preparing for the quantum era, and organizations should do the same. Technologies are already available to protect you against attacks using quantum computers. The appropriate level of security depends on the sensitivity of your data and the industry in which you operate.
The AIVD recommends starting to use post-quantum encryption now. This can be achieved using Post-Quantum Crypto, Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), Quantum Connect, and symmetric encryption. Netways Europe offers these solutions and can implement them for you.

Benefits
All your data is secure: now and in the future
- Safety
- Quantum-safe and scalable
Ideal for
This is especially true for organizations that need to keep their data secure for an extended period of time—such as personal information, financial data, and other sensitive data. For example:
- Financial Institutions
- Health Care
- Research and Development Institutes
- Data Centers
Data that is secure now will no longer be secure in the future
Between 2030 and 2040, quantum computers will have enough computing power to break commonly used cryptographic algorithms. Cybercriminals are already collecting encrypted data so they can decrypt it later, once they have access to a quantum computer.

That’s why Quantum-Safe Security solutions already exist. These solutions are designed to keep your data secure—both now and in the future:
- Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC)
PQC replaces vulnerable algorithms such as RSA and ECC. It can be used in VPNs, TLS, PKI, and digital signatures.
- Quantum Key Distribution (QKD)
A technique based on quantum mechanics that allows two parties to securely share a secret key. Any attempt to eavesdrop disrupts the signal and reveals the attack. QKD thus provides an extremely high level of security for sensitive connections.
- Quantum Connect
Concrete network solutions, such as Adva/Adtran’s ConnectGuard™, combine PQC, QKD, and symmetric encryption at the physical layer (Layer 1). In these solutions, keys are securely shared via PQC or QKD, while the actual data is encrypted using proven and fast algorithms such as AES-256. This makes it possible to secure sensitive data at high speeds (up to 400G) in, for example, DWDM networks or between data centers.
- Symmetric encryption
This is a traditional method in which the same key is used for both encrypting and decrypting data.
